I'm convinced I was born with a book in my hand. I grew up in the Midwest with plenty of time for dreaming. Living in the country could be boring, but books took me away on exciting adventures. When I was thirteen, I discovered young adult romance novels, and I've been hooked on romance ever since.
All of those novels, Harlequin in particular, formed my ideas and expectations of what love should be. The heroines provided me with powerful role models. Those ladies didn't settle; they expected marriage and respect. During my senior year of high school, I realized the man of my dreams was right in front of me and promptly fell in love. We were married a few years later, and we've been together for a long, long time.
Becoming a romance novelist never entered my mind when I considered careers. Strangely enough, I thought I wanted to be an engineer. Upon graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Electrical Engineering, I began my career as a Control Systems Engineer.
I became restless. For a few years, I toyed with the idea of writing romance novels. One day, I decided it was time to get serious. I joined a local writers group, Pen To Paper, and began writing my first novel, a contemporary category romance.
I love spending time with my husband and children. When I'm not spoiling our gigantic, fluffy cat and adorable mini-dachshund, you can find me browsing through a stack of magazines or reading a romance novel.
